Though, earlier in the day, the Coupe de Genève crowned favorites Steve Guerdat & Martin Fuchs, the Credit Suisse Challenge was full of suprises with the victory of Rowan Willis.
There were some struggles in the Credit Suisse Challenge... Some of the biggest names had a hard time at the wide Rolex oxer at number 3 or the first element of the last combination next to the lake. Australian rider Rowan Willis, quiet second to Beezie Madden in the Rolex Grand Slam of Spruce Meadow this summer, flew over this class. Even the lightning-fast Roger Yves Bost counldn't catch him, therefore finishing second. The third place was tied between Scott Brash and Daniel Deusser ! Let's not forget the great performances of young Swiss riders Anthony Bourquard (7th), Flavien Auberson (10th) and Aurelia Loser (11th)
Ending in a splash
Boyd Exell wants to take his revenge... and conqueer a 12th consecutive title in the FEI Driving World Cup presented by RTS. After being beaten by Bram Chardon in the Prix Brasserie Egger, the Autralian driver will be highly motivated in front of "his" crowd. Follow it live at 11.45am
It will then be the turn of the jumpers to end this magnificient weekend at CHI Geneva. The competition will be harsh... It will come down to talent, precision, quickness and, both for horse and rider, a little bit of luck maybe, to claim victory in the Rolex Grand Prix at 2.30pm. We can't name favorites, there are so many of them : one thing is certain, some great sport is to come ! This is how this 59th edition will end, with great moments forever engraved in our memories.
