REVENGE IS IN THE AIR
The names of the drivers to compete in the single Swiss round of the FEI Driving World Cup, to be held at CHI Geneva, have been announced. And the 2020 edition will sport shades of revenge, since the Geneva arena will play host to the same six competitors as in 2019.
Due to the health crisis, the 2020/2021 FEI Driving World Cup will only comprise four rounds. And Geneva will once more attract all the best drivers! Australian driver Boyd Exell seems impossible to unseat, having won at Palexpo ever since his first appearance in 2008. Last year’s runner-up, Glenn Geerts from Belgium, and Bram Chardon from the Netherlands, third last year, will also make the trip to the lakeside city.
Mareike Harm from Germany, the only woman in the world Top 10 ranking, will be giving it her all once again, as will Benjamin Aillaud from France, who is now a regular in the Geneva arena. As for the Swiss, the organisers have awarded Jérôme Voutaz a wild card. Supported by all his local fans, Jérôme will want to make sure all his talent shines through in the competition which launched him into the major player league in 2013.
Budapest (Hungary) is the only World Cup round to precede that of Geneva, with Malines (Belgium) and Leipzig (Germany) to follow. The final will take place in Bordeaux (France) in February 2021.
