As soon as it was announced at the beginning of November that the International Horse Show (CHI) of Geneva was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it seemed natural for the organisers to be active online from 10th to 13th December, the planned show dates. So they have decided to present a daily television show of about an hour, with well-known guests. Memories, anecdotes and interactivity galore!
The public will not be able to attend Palexpo to applaud the world’s best riders and drivers this year. Instead, from 10th to 13th December, CHI Geneva has decided to broadcast four daily TV shows on its website (www.chi-geneve.ch) and its Facebook page. They will start at 6.30 pm on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and at 2.00 pm on the Sunday. The voices of CHI Geneva Alban Poudret and Michel Sorg will present the events, each of which will feature a high-profile guest, either in the studio or by videoconference. Steve Guerdat and Martin Fuchs from Switzerland have already accepted the organisers’ invitation, along with Kevin Staut from France, Eric Lamaze from Canada and Luciana Diniz from Brazil. Also on the cards are other riders and drivers such as Bryan and Ken Balsiger, Robin Godel and Jérôme Voutaz, all from Switzerland.
Along with anecdotes and memories, the guests will comment on some of their legendary rounds in the Palexpo arena. Viewers will also be able to ask them questions online via the social networks and a specially designed platform. Also featured in the programmes, which will mainly be in French, will be competitions, the opportunity to list your own Top 10 of all time, and lots of highly entertaining surprises.
Not only will the public be offered a way to relive a few highlights of CHI Geneva, but the invited riders will also share some personal insights. Definitely some treats in store! The programmes will be produced by Artionet (Delémont), who manage a major part of the digital component of CHI Geneva, and by MS Prod, who televise the daily TV shows of the CHI each year.
