The CHI Geneva is committed to supporting one charity

One Swiss franc from every ticket sale goes to the charity that the CHI Geneva has chosen to support. This year, CHI Geneva is commited to supporting the ProSpecieRara Foundation.

ProSpecieRara

Saving endangered cultivated plants and farm animals

The ProSpecieRara Foundation has been committed to the genetic and cultural/historical diversity of cultivated plants and farm animals for over 40 years now, working with a Switzerland-wide network of volunteer and professional variety custodians, animal breeders and marketers.

ProSpecieRara ensures the living preservation of a broad pool of varieties and breeds and their genetic characteristics, currently consisting of 38 livestock breeds, over 1,600 garden and arable plants, 400 berry and 2,400 fruit varieties and around 1,000 ornamental plant varieties. This allows us to be adaptable and prepared to meet challenges such as plant and animal diseases, climate change and changing consumer needs, thus ensuring our future food security.
